Bar occupancy increase OKed by Fullerton City Council.
Previously bars could allow 1 customer for every 15 square feet, and now the number will be 1 per 7 square feet.
Several bar owners spoke to the Council saying they wanted the space allowance that nearby cities including Anaheim and Santa Ana bars have. They said many of the problems outside the bars, including drunkenness and crowding, result because customers often have to wait in long lines outside before they’re admitted to bars. With the increased occupancy level, the bar owners state they will reduce those problems occurring outside.
Opponents of the increase disagreed. See more details in this Fullerton Observer article.
