Barbara Armstrong Petty, ’71. 1953-2018  Barbara Lynn Petty, 64, of Dean, Texas abruptly left this world on Friday, January 19, 2018.  

The family will receive friends from 10a.m. until 12p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Chapel with a Memorial Service immediately following, officiated by Pastor Billy Jackson.  

A daughter of James Weldon Armstrong and the late Frances Elizabeth (Green) Armstrong was born November 27, 1953 in Duncan, Oklahoma.  

She graduated from Sunny Hills in California. After graduating high school she attended the local college and received an Associate’s degree. She aspired to be a lawyer, but God’s plan led her to focus on a career in accounting and raise a family.

She married her husband, William (Bill) Petty on December 17, 1984 in Fountain Valley, California. They just celebrated their 33rd Wedding Anniversary.  

Barbara gave every part of herself to her family and  friends. She lived life to the fullest and never knew a stranger. She loved traveling, socializing, and doting on her daughters and grandbabies. She was the best daughter, sister, wife, mother, memo, friend, hugger, giver, talker and listener, who will be greatly missed by all. We love you to the moon and back Momma.  

She is preceded in death by her mother, Frances Armstrong. She is survived by her loving husband Bill Petty, her 5 daughters: Laci Dormankos and husband Josh, Sarah Elledge and husband Ricky, Jamie Jackson and husband Jeremiah, Sam Bolduc, Casey Dohse and husband; 13 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; her father James Armstrong and brother Roger Armstrong and wife Renee.
