Charles Ford, 1922-2013
Mr. Ford was the father of Avril (SHHS '66), Lesley, Scott, Ian, and Bonnie.

 

Charles Ford passed away peacefully at home in Fullerton, California, on the morning of February 18th, 2013 with his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Ford, at his side. He was 90 years old.
 
Charles was born in Glasgow, Scotland, where he attended The Royal Technical College and earned his BSc Degree in Engineering, Metallurgy. He served as a pilot in the Fleet Air Arm of The Royal Navy in World War II.
 
In 1954, Charles immigrated with Elizabeth and their three small children to Mount Vernon, New York, where they had their fourth child. In 1959, the family moved to Fullerton, California, where they had the last of their 5 children and became US citizens.
 
Charles finished out the last of his working days as a Metallurgical Engineer for Northop and, after retirement, focused on his love of golfing, fishing, and his Scottish heritage.
 
The Ford family has resided in Fullerton for 54 years. Charles will always be remembered for his upstanding integrity and honesty. He was truly a great man. Charles is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; his 5 children, Avril (SHHS '66), Lesley, Scott, Ian, Bonnie; his 6 grandchildren, Keith, Cameron, Skye, Ian, Andrew, Lauren; and his 4 great grandchildren, Kayley, Kyle, Roland, Skye. We will miss you Daddy!.

Mr. Ford was a fine man with a wonderful sense of humor. He and Mrs.Ford brought up 5 accomplished children. It was an honor to know him.
