To help us please go to go fund me under Charles Hale or Facebook. Thanks. My wife, Marisa, is 60 yrs old and works as a caregiver. She has a huge bunion on her right foot that needs surgery. It is extremely painful when she works. She has insurance, but they still say we must pay $70,000 out of pocket. I am retired and have severe emphysema. I receve Social Security and a small amt from a trust. We live frugally and have a hard time paying bills, but we are happy. Marisa provides us with the extra income we need to get by. Without the operation she will not be able to continue her work as a caregiver and we will not be able to meet our bills. We would truly appreciate any help we can get. If we can get help, Marisa can work to help support us and make it to retirement. I have never asked for anything, but I'm asking now for help. Thank you.

I am humbled by the generous donation of Tim Twombly. Our families were early pioneers of Fullerton. I've never met Tim, but his sister and I went all through school together. Tim sent me an encouraging note to Marisa and I and I can't tell you how much that note meant to us. If you are lucky in life, you meet a person like Tim. Not because of the donation, but, his empathy that he has with those in need and the encouraging letter he sent us. I am at loss for words. Thank you, Tim.

Marisa’s surgery. I have talked to Marisa and she is considering having the operation in the Philippines. I have agreed if this is what she wants. We cannot afford to have the operation in the USA. If she has the operation in the Philippines she would not get disability and her work has told her she might lose her job. I would also have a hard time with her gone, since there are many things I can’t do because of my Emphysema. Yet, she has to have this operation to continue working. We still need any donations, large or small, from our friends. I have never asked for money like this and Marisa and I are embarrassed that we have to do this. I love my wife with all my heart and put aside my pride for her well-being. I hope you will help us so I can get her to the Philippines and the surgery she has to have. Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart to those who have helped us so far. Love, peace to all. Charlie

Thank you for all my friends who have donated so far. There are a lot of people who question why bunion surgery should cost so much. I said bunion for lack of a better explanation. I do not want to get into detail, but her foot needs major corrective surgery and it is a complicated surgery. Many people have said bunion surgery does not cost more than 10,000 dollars. To repeat, this is not just bunion surgery and the deformity gets worse each year. I hope this will put to rest all those who question the$ 70,000 price that St Jude gave me. If not, have a nice day.
