Sure miss all the good times when Craig and Doug Scott and I and Richard Montgomery, Pat Grimm, sometimes Mike Smith from Cerritos Drive would play basketball, go to basketball games or boxing matches, or just watch sports at the Scott home. Well, sometimes we drank beer, too. We used to tease Doug and he’d blush, and he loved the attention. Whenever he saw me, he’d smile and pretend to sneer, and say, “Awww, SAE-vig!” We all teased each other relentlessly. Richard was riding around town on his little motorcycle, and those days were fun. Well into the late 1970s, and I’d see Craig and his wife, sometimes with Doug, at Cal State Fullerton basketball games. April 20, 2018.
I’m thrilled to see US NEWS has named Iowa the #1 state for many valid reasons. As a small, largely rural state, Iowa had been the butt of jokes for so long. They’ve roared back! -- April 18, 2018. -- Paul Saevig, ‘67
I’m sorry to see Mrs. Barbara Bush died, and I always admired her. She was a strong woman and an American patriarch, One of the things about her I liked best was her sense of humor, and her ability to take a joke.
Rest in peace, Mrs. Bush. -- Paul.
