Mr. Avery Streech, 1913-2014
Father of Cathy, SHHS ’66; Vincent, FUHS ’61; and Suzanne, FUHS ’58.

 

 

Avery Vincent Streech was born in Fullerton, CA, February 7, 1913 and passed away peacefully in Fullerton on November 10, 2014.

 

He attended Fullerton Union High School and in later years attended the FUHS Pow Wow, as a proud Indian of the Class of 1931.

 

Avery believed, "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a handsome and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'WOW, what a ride! - Hunter S. Thompson

 

He is survived by son, Vincent C. Streech and family of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter, Catherine Frazier and family of Fullerton, CA; and sister, Helen Clucas and family of Orange, CA. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. 

 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Agnes Caroline; his daughter, Suzanne Semones-Maryland; and his brother, Wilbur Streech of New York.

 

An electrician by trade, he turned his skills into a successful electrical contracting business (Streech Electric) in Fullerton. He was an 80 year member of IBEW.

 

His zest for life was shown as an avid hunter, fisherman, water skier, photographer and private pilot. Where Dad went-we followed!!
