Mrs. Melba Ambridge, 1925-2009
Mrs. Ambridge and her husband Al raised a fantastic Lancer family. She had oceans of love in her heart, and she will be dearly missed.

Melba "Toasty" Ambridge

Melba "Toasty" Ambridge CARLSBAD -- Melba "Toasty" Ambridge passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, July 5, 2009, after a long illness, with her family at her side.

Melba was born in Cardston, Alberta, Canada on Sept. 26, 1925. Toasty leaves behind her husband of 64 years, Alfred E. Ambridge; and her five children, Sherry McCleary Fitch, Laurie Dawn Downen, Roni LaRue Lanphear, Scott Bradley Ambridge, and Forest Blake Ambridge; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, whom she knew and loved,

She is predeceased by granddaughter, Kellie Lynn McCleary. Services will be held on Monday, July 13th, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel, located at 1975 Chestnut Ave., Carlsbad, Ca.

Viewing will begin at 10a.m., services at 11a.m. Interment to be in Windsor, Calif. Sign the Guest Book online obits.nctimes.com

Dawn, everyone who met your mom even once loved her. I'm sad to see she's gone but I knew we'll all be reunited some day. Meanwhile her love and kindness live on in you and your sisters. Love, Paul
