Billy Jewett, 1936-2019
Billy was one of Cheri and Penny's brothers, FUHS ‘54

 

 

Billy B. Jewett passed away on December 3, 2018, one month before his 83rd birthday. 

 

He was born January 2, 1936 to William and Winnie (Pearson) Jewett. Billy's family goes way back here in Fullerton, his father was born in Fullerton in 1908 and his grandmother graduated from Fullerton high school in 1905. 

 

His maternal grandfather, James Pearson, was the chief of police in Fullerton and Brea in the 20s through the 40s. 

 

Billy graduated from FUHS in 1954. Where his friends say they always remember his great smile and twinkling blue eyes.

 

Billy spent most of his life In the construction industry, building and working all over Southern California. He truly loved his work, but his greatest passion was for flying his Cessna airplane. He started flying at a very early age with his father and found it to be something he would love until, sadly, health issues forced him to give it up. 

 

Billy loved boating, snow and water skiing, Dove hunting in Mexico and in Parker, Arizona with his son Bill. The two of them also loved to go camping and doing all types of off road racing, as well as rock crawling. 

 

Another passion of Billy's was cooking and eating; he was quite good at both. He loved the river and was retired there for 25 years. 

 

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Winnie Jewett; and his brother, Lee Jewett. He is survived by his wife, Clara; his son, Bill; his daughter, Bonnie Lees (Jewett); grandchildren, Lauren, Krystal and Rena; grandson, Travis; his great grandchildren, Julianna, Travis and Johnny; his sisters, Cheri and Penny; and brothers in law, Frank Brenner and Chuck Clayton. 

 

A celebration of life will be held February 23, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at: Crestlawn Memorial Park, 11500 Arlington Avenue, Riverside, Ca.
