Brian H. Paulk, 58, of Sedro Woolley, passed away on January 13th, 2013 from prostate cancer at the Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham, WA.

 

Brian Paulk was born in La Habra, CA to Arlene Riel and Arnold Paulk on October 7, 1954. He went to Fullerton High School and graduated in 1972.

 

He built Burger Kings while he lived in CA and moved to WA in 1978. He worked at E&E Lumber in Sedro Woolley as an Assistant Manager for several years. While employed there, he built two houses for his family.

 

In 1983 he began his job as a floor-covering salesman for Trim & Adhesive Supply and continued working there until his death.

 

On October 12, 1994 he and his wife Lisa were married on Kihei Beach in Maui, Hawaii.

 

He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his son Brett, traveling in his RV with Lisa, vacationing in Hawaii, Mexico and Ocean Shores, as well as following the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks.

 

His sister, Connie Grago and his parents Arlene and Arnold predeceased him. 

 

Brian is survived by his wife, Lisa Paulk; daughter, Nicole Paulk and husband Brett Yonally; son, Brett Paulk and wife Dedra Paulk; brother, Barry Paulk and wife Adrienne Paulk; and grandchildren Evan and Kirra Paulk; as well as his mother in law, Ruth Abbott.

 

A public funeral service will be held at Kern's Funeral Home in Mount Vernon on Friday, January 18th at 7:00 P.M. A private family burial service will take place to put Brian to rest at the Mount Vernon Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or the Humane Society of Skagit Valley (www.skagithumane.com). Condolences may be left in Brian's online guestbook at www.kernfuneralhome.com.

 

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Trim & Adhesive Supply, the Mount Vernon Carpet Center, the Whatcom Hospice House, Hospice of the NW, Skagit Valley Hospital and all of Brian's friends for their love and support.

 

Arrangements are under the care of Kern Funeral Home.
