I remember Dick was one of the big kids when I grew up in West Fullerton. My Nicolas friends and I would see Dick and his buddies over at McDonald's on Euclid near Orangethorpe. Cool haircuts, Lucky Tiger, tanker jackets, pant cuffs tucked inside and worn a little high, pants worn low on the hips, slight slouch, taps on their shoes, cool old cars with chrome pipes and pretty girlfriends wearing pony tails or beehives and plenty of hairspray, scooting over to sit by their guys. Those good times will never die. Rest in peace, old friend.
