Dr. Fred Kay, MD


Dr. Fred M. Kay, MD, 1921-2006 


Dr. Kay passed away on April 5, 2006, in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was born December 7, 1921 in Evanston, Illinois. 


A graduate of the University of Southern California and Loyola University Medical School in Chicago. Dr. Kay went on to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago. 


Dr. Kay served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corp. A long time resident of Fullerton, CA; a specialist with a private medical practice in Fullerton and Anaheim area from 1956-1983. Chairman of the Dept. of Obstetrics & Gynecology at St. Jude Hospital, past President of the O.C Medical Assoc., Board member of the California Medical Assoc. Director of the Children's Home Society, founding member of the Florence Crittendon Services of Orange County and Board member of the Mary Bridges Children's Hospital Foundation in WA. 


After his retirement he and his wife moved to Indian Wells, CA, and remained active in many civic and charitable organizations. 


Since 1997, they have resided in Scottsdale, AZ. 


Dr. Kay is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Norma, and his children Fred, Greg, wife Jean, Susan, husband John Keating, and Jeffrey, wife Cathy and seven grandchildren. 


Fred enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and traveling with Norma. His love of USC was well known among his family and friends. He was a member of Cardinal and Gold and USC Associates. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Crittendon Services for Children and Families, Attn: Marilyn Salzman, 801 E.
