Dr. James A. DeLozier, MD 1923-2020

 

Dr. James Anderew DeLozier was born in Sevierville, Tennessee on June 20, 1923, to Andy and Mary Gertrude DeLozier. He passed away peacefully on February 20, 2020, surrounded by family and friends. 

 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ethel Cox DeLozier, and is survived by his children Marie DeLozier, Andrea Pecora, James A. DeLozier Jr. and Cynthia Orysh. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. 

 

Dr. DeLozier enlisted in the Navy before the United States entered World War II. He was accepted into medical school through the Navy A1 program and attended the University of Maryland and the University of Virginia at Charlottesville. 

 

After graduating from medical school at UVA in 1950, he married his lovely wife Ethel Cox. Dr. DeLozier served his commitment to the United States by working as a radiologist at Veterans' Hospitals in both Long Beach, CA and Wichita, KS. 

 

After leaving the V.A. system, he co-founded Fullerton Radiology, a group which is still in existence today. 

 

Jim was a man of integrity who loved his family and the Lord! He will be incredibly missed by his friends and family. McAulay & Wallace Mortuary.
