Paul David Mabie, M.D. was born in Toledo, Ohio July 23, 1930. He died peacefully in Fullerton, California at home with his wife, Carolyn, March 21, 2012. At right, Paul and Carolyn are seen at the Mabie Medical Center, 2720 N Harbor Blvd, Fullerton, CA, circa 2010. Besides leaving his beloved wife of over 45 years, he also precedes his dear firstborn, Audrey Mabie. His second dear daughter, LeAnn, preceded him in 2007. Her husband and current wife, John and Susan Garcia together mourn his passing. He also leaves behind only son David Mabie and his wife Marianne. Fourth cherished daughter April and her husband Steve remain as well. He leaves thirteen wonderful grandchildren: Alex, Adam, Evan and Jack Garcia; Danielle, Justin, and Maddison Mabie; Samantha, Sabrina, Jared, Lauren, Jacob and Rachel Lunt. Retirement of 18 years followed an illustrious career in Plastic surgery in Fullerton, California. He was secretary of the California Society of Plastic Surgery for several years and served on the Ethics committee of Orange County Medical Association. He also oversaw the construction of the Medical Center in Fullerton which now bears his name. On the staff of many hospitals, he and his wife have been ardent supporters of St. Jude Medical Center for many years. Also avid pilot, he was active in the Flying Physicians Association for over four decades. He and his family flew all over the country including Alaska. A man of great humor and many adventurous stories, he was much admired and will be extremely missed by his family, friends. Dr. Mabie was a proud graduate of the University of Toledo and University of Cincinnati Medical School, having attended every reunion there every five years. He completed three years of general surgery followed by three years of plastic surgery residency at Galveston, Texas.
