Erma Perkins Keller Crawford passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011, just shy of her 93rd birthday. She died peacefully at home after living a long and full life. Erma was born September 11, 1918, in Monticello, Utah to Richard Leonard and Ada Hunt Perkins. Erma’s mother died in childbirth in September of 1921. Her father followed shortly thereafter, passing away on May 23, 1924, leaving four young children orphaned. Erma and her siblings were split up to be raised by family and friends. From the age of five Erma was lovingly raised by Fred W. and Mabel Dyring Keller in Manti, Utah and Price, Utah. Erma attended and graduated from Manti High School. She chose to further her education at Utah State Agricultural College in Logan, Utah until she was needed at home to provide secretarial duties for Fred’s law office. Erma married John Crawford November 24, 1939. Following her marriage they moved to San Diego, California and later to Fullerton, California. The marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles California Temple in May of 1965. Upon her retirement in 1983, Erma moved back to Utah; finally settling in Orem. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially her beloved siblings. Erma was a loving sister, wife, aunt, cousin, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by her two sons, John Crawford Jr., Orem, Utah and Fred (Patsy) Crawford, Draper, Utah, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Erma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a granddaughter, Misty, her two sisters, Freeda and Elaine; and her brother, Doyle. Many family and friends were recipients of her generosity and loving nature. Not the least of these was her beloved grandchildren. She took great delight in them and they her. She will be sorely missed. The family expresses a sincere thank you to Alpine Homecare and Hospice for their loving care of Erma. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 19, 2011, at 12:00 noon at the Draper Utah Stake Center, 13085 South 300 East, with a viewing for family and friends prior to the services from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. Interment: Salt Lake Mausoleum.
