Ever eat at Taix?  French cuisine, 1911 W Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, technically Downtown, at the east side of Silverlake?
Founded in 1927, Taix was an elegant place for 50 years. It was on a property that was located downtown and eventually condemned, and later became the Federal Building. The second Taix is on Sunset.

The original Taix was very comfortably “family” in its orientation. Never jam-packed but always busy. Our family went there on several occasions in the 1950s.

There are two different Taix.  Same family, but different places.  The second was called Frere Taix, started by Taix brothers after the original was torn down.

I only went to the Sunset Taix once, in college, and the food was very good.
