I remember when Gregg Nolan, '67 was taking 1sts as a Sunny Hills diver. Now he's a winning cook.
How about a '60s Lancer hand for Gregg Nolan, '67 and Bill Jennings for their 2nd Place in the Side Orders competition, with their Onions with Tarragon Mustard Sauce, at a Fullerton charity event?

Fullerton's male foodies brought their game faces and best dishes to Sunday's "Food-loving Guys Raising Funds for FIES".

Now in its third year, the fundraiser for Fullerton Interfaith Emergency Services, featured 24 civic leaders, businessmen and law enforcement cooking appetizers, side dishes, entrees and desserts.

"I don't know if anybody gets around to trying everything that there is," FIES Executive Director Judi Bambas said. "It was quite an assortment."

After the seven judges made their way through the tables, the public was able to taste-test the offerings and mark their own votes for the People's Choice.

There was one dish judge and Fullerton News-Tribune cooking columnist Judy Kancigor said she went back for seconds on: Jon Sanders's Drunk Peaches and Happy Berry Cobbler, the winner of both the judge's and People's Choice for dessert.

"He is a real serious cook that gives it a lot of thought," she said. "The guys were getting into it.

Everyone really seemed to be enjoying it."
