Funeral for Jimmy K. Owens will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Spring Creek Assembly in Edmond, Oklahoma. 

He passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, in Edmond.

Jim was born and grew up in Lawton, and graduated from Lawton High School in 1960. He attended Cameron University for two years. He moved to Edmond in 1962 to attend UCO and graduated with a master's degree in 1966. During this time he met and married the love of his life, Coye Ann, in 1965. They have been married for 52 years. Jim worked in the oil and gas business for over 40 years. Jim and Terry Horton initiated the Edmond 4th of July Celebration that we enjoy today. He also enjoyed playing golf at Oak Tree and Twin Hills Golf and Country Club with his friends.

Jim is survived by his wife, Coye Ann; his children: Kyle and Tara; his five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and brother, Johnny.

He will be missed dearly by family and friends.

Arrangements are under direction of Baggerly Funeral Home, Edmond.
