Huebscher, Katherine E. (Bette) NOTE: NEW DIRECTIONS of Bloomington, passed away peacefully February 20. Preceded in death by mother, Katherine Newdall; sister, Margaret Syme and beloved husband of 61 years, Bob. Bette was born in 1921 in Minneapolis where she attended Washburn High School and met Bob, the love of her life. They married in 1942 and lived for a short time in Utah and California during his officer's training. After a 2-year separation due to Bob's service in World War II, they settled in Edina and raised five children. Bette possessed the perfect combination of kindness, determination, humility and humor. No matter what the obstacle, she had the courage to persevere, which, in turn, gave others strength. Her talents were multi-faceted and the deep love and devotion she gave to her family was boundless and tender. We adored her and she will forever live in our hearts. Survived by sons, Tom (Linda), Todd (Betsy); daughters, Katie, Heidi, and Becky Johnson (Gary); grandchildren, Scott (Tiffany), Mark (Leah), Shannon, Erin, Jake, Annie, and great-grandson, Max. Memorial service Tuesday, March 13 at 2:30 PM, with visitation one hour prior to service at Martin Luther Manor, 1401 E. 100th St., Bloomington (35W to 98th St., E. on 98th past Portland, go 2 blocks (road curves - look for MLM sign) & turn right, then immediate left to stay on E. 98th. Go past school & turn right on 13th Ave straight into MLM parking lot). Private interment at Lakewood Cemetery. Robert F. Huebscher
Huebscher Robert F. Huebscher of Bloomington, passed away peacefully on Jan. 31, 2004 at the age of 84 surrounded by loved ones. Born and raised in Mpls., Bob graduated from Washburn High School in 1937. He served in the Armed Forces from 1942 to 1945 where he earned the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He was a long standing member of the Chanters at the Zuhrah Shrine Temple and had a 33 year career in retail advertising with the Star Tribune from 1948 to 1981. We will miss his keen wit and gentle heart. Preceded in death by sister, Alma. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Bette; sons, Tom (Linda) of Escondido, CA, Todd (Betsy); daughters, Katie, Heidi, Becky Johnson (Gary); grandchildren, Scott (Tiffany), Mark (Leah), Shannon, Erin, Jacob, Annie; great-grandson, Max Halen; brother, Jack; nieces and nephews. MEMORIAL SERVICE 5:00 PM, VISITATION 4 PM, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13 AT MARTIN LUTHERAN MANOR CHAPEL, 1401 East 100th St., Bloomington, 2 miles E. of Lyndale Ave S. on 98th St. Private interment at Lakewood Cemetery.
