Mr. Homer E. Neptune, 1918 - 2014
Father of Richard, ’62 and Christine, ‘68

 

Homer E. Neptune, 96, longtime resident of Fullerton, passed away on October 7, 2014. He was born on January 2, 1918, in San Diego, California, to Herman P. and Frances J. Neptune. Homer married Lois Mae Smith on May 3, 1941. They made their home in Los Angeles, moving to Fullerton in about 1946. They raised two sons, Michael and Richard and daughter, Christine in Fullerton. Homer and Lois were longtime members of United Methodist Church in Fullerton. Homer worked as a purchasing agent for a medical manufacturing firm. 

 

Homer was a loving father, grandpa and great-grandpa. He was kind and respectful to everyone he met and will be greatly missed. He enjoyed taking Olli classes at CSU in Fullerton and made a great many friends there. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Lois; and his brothers, Kenneth and Don Neptune. He is survived by his sons, Michael (Jane) and Richard (Lauren), ‘62; daughter, Christine  ’68 (John) Reed; grandchildren, Jim (Andrea) Neptune, Michelle (Jason) Bauerly, Cody (Carrie) Neptune, Lacey (Jeff) Ginter, Joely Neptune, Jennifer (Paul Roberts, Erica (Dan) Thompson, Amanda (Stephen) Burdett; and 18 great-grandchildren. 

 

A memorial service will be held at Loma Vista Memorial Park, Fullerton, on Thursday, October 16, at 11 AM in the Mausoleum Chapel.
