Lloyd Marshall "Coach" Bevington, 62, died at home June 11, 2000. Born in Riverside, he was an Apple Valley resident for 30 years. He worked for Apple Valley Unified School District as a teacher and coach for 27 years and Athletic Director for 10 of those years. He was an Elder of the Hi-Desert Church of Christ.
He was discharged as a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, and a member of the Citrus Belt Athletic Directors Association Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his wife Martha of 37 years; sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Alysa of Mesa, Ariz. and Richard and Sandra of Reno, Nev. and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Frances Wagner 6/16/2000 do not change this date June 24, 2000, at the Hi-Desert Church of Christ, 22332 Eyota Road, Apple Valley, with Delbert Taylor officiating. Burial will be private.
