Mr. Richard Skain, 1927-2009
Mr. Skain was the first head football coach at Sunny Hills High School, beginning in 1961. He continued teaching and coaching at SHHS for many years.

 

Richard was born on October 5, 1927 and passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in Auburn, CA.

I remember Coach very well. He was tough, a fine teacher of football, direct and strong. I left SHHS after 2 years and Coach Skain made the
a bigger impression. Jeff Reinking spent time with Coach in Auburn CA and told me he was the same person. I was lucky to have him as the Coach.
