Mr. Robert R. Woodruff,1922-2008
Father of Doug, '63; Susan,'65; Becky, '69 and Beth, '72

 

Mr. Robert Roy Woodruff was born on June 14, 1922 in Clifton, New Jersey.

He passed away February 17, 2008 surrounded by his loving family after a fifteen year battle with COPD. 

 
Bob graduated with honors from Ohio State University in 1943 with a B.S. degree in accounting. Bob had remained an avid Ohio State sports fan. His other hobbies were golfing, boating, traveling and bridge. He attended all summer Olympics starting in Mexico 1968 to Barcelona 1992. Bob was united in marriage to Helen Louise Montgomery September 2, 1944 in Claysville, PA.
 
Bob and Helen resided in Fullerton, Calif. for 43 years where they raised four children which survive: Doug and wife Patty of Camarillo, CA; Susan and husband Bob of Eugene, OR; Becky and husband Steve of Ozark, MO; and Beth and husband Kerry of Rogersville, MO.
 
Bob and Helen have seventeen wonderful grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Bob is survived by one sibling, Dr. John H. Woodruff of Hartford, CT.
 
Bob owned and operated Wolf Machinery Company which sold imported metal working machines. Our father served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946 as a Division Auditor.
 
Bob and Helen spent 14 wonderful years in Saddlebrook Retirement Community, Tucson, AZ.
 
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
