Florine Yoder, 81, of Newport Beach passed away April 23, 2006. She is survived by her husband, Ervin E. Yoder, Jr.; son, Kevin A. Yoder (Jeffrey Hall); daughter, Diane E. Yoder; step-son, Eric E. Yoder, SHHS '66; step-daughters, Deborah Wilmshurst (Tom) and Rebecca Matics (Richard); grandchildren, Matthew Yoder-Hall, Lark Elizabeth Yoder-Hall, Jed Benefield, Sarah Matics, David Matics; brothers, Robert Nini (Cecily) and Roger Newman (Beth).
Mrs. Yoder was a philanthropist and active in charity work throughout Orange County. She was a founding member of the Mother Goose Guild at CHOC (St. Joseph's Hospital) [see logo]; active in PTA, Assistance League, and Las Campanas; and a keen supporter of higher education.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Lark Folsom Norman, SHHS '69, in 1994, in whose honor she established the Lark Norman Memorial Library at Bernardo Yorba Junior High School.
A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 28, 2006 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 9 Hillgate, Irvine, CA 92612. Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Los Angeles.
