Mrs. Loween Bernice Bolken. July 21, 1925 - January 5, 2010.
Loween Bolken, a devoted wife and mother, grandmother and true friend, passed away on Saturday, the 5th of January 2019.
Loween was born in Denison, Iowa on July 21 1925 to her parents, Emil and Florence Jensen who farmed just north of town. She attended schools in Denison and graduated from Denison High School in 1945.
She was married to her High School sweetheart, Ken Bolken on February 6, 1947 shortly after World War II. A son, James Michael was born on December 8, 1947 in Denison.
The family moved to California in 1955 where both Ken and Loween worked until their retirement years enjoying her ceramics classes, playing bridge with her many friends and traveling to many places the world over and of course she loved golfing.
Loween is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Florence, three brothers, Ronald Robert and Palmer, and her beloved husband of 67 years, Kenneth.
She is survived by her son, Michael, '66, and wife, Kitty and family of California, Grandson, Chad Bolken and wife, Debbie and family of Wyoming. She is also survived by nephew, Eric Jensen and wife, Kellie and family of Oregon, nieces, Cindy Sanchez, Kristen and her husband, John Marvel and family of Arizona. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. May God bless her and keep her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa AZ.
