Altha Mae Bostick Joos

Dearly beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Altha Joos went peacefully in her sleep to be with the Lord on May 4, 2006.

Altha was born in Hickman County, Kentucky on September 19, 1922 to Robert and Lillie Burgess.

Altha is survived by her beloved husband Raymond Joos of La Habra, Ca, one sister Christina Lawrence of Laurenceville Il, three sons: James (Rosemary) Bostick of Rancho Santa Fe, Ca; Fred Bostick of Anaheim, Ca; Carl (Lyla) Bostick of Vancouver, Wa, three daughters: Cheryl (Ray) Reeves of Auburn, Ca; Carlene (Tony) Smith of La Habra, Ca; Julia (Bill) Stokes of Grass Valley, Ca.

She was adored by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Altha will be remembered for her love, generosity, strength, and faith in God. She and Raymond served the Lord faithfully with Meals on Wheels, as well as many other ministries of the First United Methodist Church in Fullerton.

Her strong and loving spirit was also evident when she lost her first beloved husband of 34 years, and the father of her children, Carl Bostick in 1976. Altha will be dearly missed by her family and friends:

We sorrow, but not as those who have no hope. (1 Thessalonians 4:13).

We are so thankful of the life she lived for Jesus. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society, Fullerton First United Methodist Church Foundation.

The family would like to thank Placentia Hospice for their wonderful support. A celebration of life service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Fullerton on Monday, May 8 at 10:00a.m. McAulay & Wallace Mortuary assisted the family.
