Hazel Shepard 1944-2007
Class of 1962

Hazel's youngest brother Steve Shepard, '67, writes from Florida:

I'm sorry to report that my sister, Hazel Shepard McCready,
passed away on June 6 at the age of 62. Hazel suffered a ruptured
aneurysm in her brain in 1991 and never fully recovered. She finally
fell victim to an infection that she couldn't fight off. She leaves
behind four sons and twelve grandchildren.

Hazel was a member of the first graduating class from SHHS and served as
the school's first Student Body Treasurer as a sophomore.

Hazel was followed at Sunny Hills by Paul (Class of 1964); Pat (1966); Steve (1967) and Virginia

Hazel will be missed very much.

Hazel and I attended UC Berkeley together. We were roommates and lived on South Side our year in a little apartment. Foreign students lived all around us. Hazel and I took Latin Dancing for a PE class. The apartment residents all used to dance together in the halls when when got back from our classes so we could practice the new "moves."

I am shocked that she is gone. She was way too young. We'll all miss her. What a fun-loving and interesting person. Please give my condolences to her family and friends.
