About Gary, I'll call his friend Jeff tonight to find out if there are plans for a memorial service. I also have some photos I took at the reunion, in particular one of Gary and Karla Buck that I will post.

Just learned about Gary Fuller. Unbelievable! How very sad I am. Hazel Shepard and now Gary. We're going fast. So sad I didn't make it to the reunion now.

I missed the Reunion, sadly, but was really looking forward to seeing Gary again. He and I spent most of the 40th reunion talking and reminiscing about life. It is just unbelievable that he is gone. He was so full of life! He had so many friends and was such a kick in high school. We often sat near each other in classes. Although I lived far away from most of you in Northern CA and farther now since I'm in South Carolina, he's one that I always kept in touch with. What a tragedy. I will miss him terribly.

It was great to see and talk to Gary at the reunion last Saturday nite. Our families were close and attended St Lukes Lutheran in Fullerton. Everything was going so well for him and he was very upbeat. We spoke of his place in Brookings, Ore. and I was hoping to visit him. He recalled Jim "Tuffy" Steele and his spunk on the football field at SHHS. He said he wished he could have attended Tuffy's service but he did not feel comfortable because it was at a private residence. He will be missed and remembered by many.

Gary was a real funny guy. I remember 1 time he came to school in a safari out fit with a big butterfly net. He tore me up.

I just got this message and like Leslie, am shocked. I spoke with Gary a long time at our reunion and was looking forward to having him over to our home at Christmas time when he was planning to be back in Orange County.

He was a good friend to many. What a loss.

There are so many wonderful things we could all say about Gary. He was such a kind, compassionate person all his life. One thing I remember is that when we'd discuss current events and I'd be mad and discouraged, he always urged me to be patient, be hopeful, don't put anyone down. This is a huge loss.

On November 3, 2007, Dennis Pollard forwarded this message to the SPOON from Leslie Hoag:

Dennis, I got an email tonight from one of Gary's friends. He was killed yesterday in an accident
on his way back to Oregon when he swerved to avoid a deer near Willits and rolled 300 feet
down an embankment. He died instantly. The friend who was with him was able to escape from
the car and climb up the embankment with only scrapes and bruises.

Please forward to all our classmates who were at the reunion. There may be a memorial
service in LA.

I'm still in shock.
