It is with great sadness that I inform you that Pete Perrone (SHHS ‘64) died yesterday afternoon at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA, surrounded by family and close friends,  including myself and Mike Fekete.  Pete had suffered a massive stroke on Sunday, from which he was unable to recover.

May he Rest In Peace; and may Light Perpetual shine upon him.

Pete, I'm very saddened by your loss. You always had a smile and a good word for me every time I saw you. On the field, you were a brother on whom we could all rely. I remember you coming on the field and thinking everything was going to be good now. I will miss knowing you are out there. Best wishes to your family and close friends and sincere thanks for sharing Pete with us all.

Pete was the fullback on the '64 football team. Power 34 was the call sending Pete up the middle off tackle. Pete was a reliable and courageous ball carrier - traits I am sure he carried into his post high school life. Prayers to his family RIP Pete.

My condolences to the Perrone family. Pete and I used to ride or walk to SHHS in our senior year. When his car was running we rode; when it wasn't we either rode the bus or hoofed it. He was good to be around; a stand up guy.

Kathy I am so sorry to hear of Pete’s Passing. The two of you are such kind people and I loved Pete’s stories about the Glover gloves. Pete actually gave me my first and only fig to eat . Loved hearing about his Santa adventures. May he Rest In Peace. Love Lolly

I’ll never forget Pete. He played Pop Warner Football with my brother Earnie, and he as a great player then and at SHHS.

I saw him at Coach Wayne Payne’s funeral a few years ago, RIP, my friend.
