Ryden Richardson, ’67 correctly identified this picture earlier, It’s Constructing the Figueroa St. extension near the Southwest Museum in Highland Park. Workers discovered fossilized elephant bones.1931.

It really does look like San Clemente, though, I’ll post another one,

That looks like the bluffs above San Clemente. The train tracks are still there and the bluffs are still unstable-periodically collapsing onto the roadway.
