Richard Alan Posey, 63, of Fullerton, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 after a long illness.
A long time Fullerton resident, Rich graduated from Sunny Hills High School class of '67, Fullerton College and CSUF. He served his country as a Reservist in the Army Medical Corps from 1969-1975. He worked for 45 years in the tire industry with his most recent position as manager of Big O Tires in Lake Forest and Fullerton.
A passionate lifelong and accomplished golfer he was a proud member of the 1970 Fullerton College State Championship winning team. Rich was a humble and gentlemanly golfer who would quietly and efficiently beat his opponents while keeping their dignity intact. He enjoyed golfing with players of all levels and was a patient and generous instructor.
Rich will be remembered for his kindness, good humor and love of life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mary Jean and brother, Ralph and is survived by his sons, Richard (Betty) and James; granddaughter, Chloe; niece, Taylor Adams; companion, Cynthia Mayfield; and many extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank the caring professionals of the Crosson Cancer Center at St. Jude Medical Center and Evercare Hospice Service.
A memorial celebrating his life will be held Monday May 20 at 11:00 at the Coyote Hills Golf Course, 1440 E. Bastanchury Road, Fullerton.
