Robert  Larson, '62  1945-2021

 

Robert Eugene Larson, 76, passed away in Surprise, Arizona on April 15th, 2021. He was born in Fullerton, California, in 1945.
 
He is predeceased by his parents, Leroy Stanley Larson and Emogene Minera Bell Larson; his uncle, Charles T. Bell, and his wife, Carol Yvonne Iles, who peacefully passed away in 2015.
 
He is survived by his older brother, Gary (Sandra) Larson, who resides in Surprise Arizona; uncle, Alfred (Mary) Bell; former spouse, Lana (Jim) Cooper; son, Robert (Kiran) Larson; daughters, Wendy (David) Cross and Deena (Jason) Newland; two stepsons, Terry (Mary) Iles and Todd (Cindy) Iles; twelve grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
 
In childhood, Robert attended Sunnyhills High School in Fullerton. He was an exceptional athlete with numerous recognitions in football and basketball, and also became a skilled racquetball player.
 
Robert started his career as a general contractor in 1962. His business REL Pacific grew to prominence, with operations in suburban construction across Orange County and San Diego County.
 
Among his favorite activities were fishing with his family (especially grandchildren), cooking delicious Mexican food, and family trips to Baja California. He was also an avid pianist and spent many hours on his Steinway playing classical sonatas.
 
As an outgoing and amiable individual, Robert was always invested in the well being of others. He valued people according to their character, which allowed him to form meaningful relationships and lasting memories. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones.
