Mr. Robert S. Walters, 1926-2008
Father of Craig, ‘67

 

Mr, Robert Stuart Walters passed away on May 13, 2008 at Pacific Coast Manor in Capitola, CA. He was 82 years old.

 

Robert was born and raised in Fullerton, Ca. He graduated Fullerton High School and later attended USC. Following college, Robert took a position in sales at Badger Water Meters, eventually working his way up to Regional Manager and working there until his retirement in 1987. After his retirement, Robert started his own company, Aptos Ten, a water meter repair company.

 

Robert served in the Army Infantry during WWII. He was wounded during his service, for which he received a Purple Heart.

 

Robert enjoyed tennis and he loved woodworking, making furniture and woodcarvings. He also enjoyed playing golf. During his time at Pacific Coast Manor, Robert received wonderful and loving care. He also, served as the President of the Council there. He was a long time member of Twin Lakes Church.

 

Robert is survived by his wife of 43 years, Beverly Walters of Aptos; sons, Craig Walters, ’67, and his wife Joanie of Chico and Steve Walters of Newport Beach; step-daughters, Sharon Miller of Agora Hills, CA, Cindy Kesting and her husband Bob of Ketchum, ID, Kelly Chorney of Aberdeen, WA and Rebecca Lawson and her partner Lisa Rivera of Olympia, WA; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his grandson Steven Woods.

 

Funeral Services for Robert will be held Tuesday, May 20th at 1:30 pm at Twin Lakes Church in the Monschke Hall, 2701 Cabrillo College Dr. in Aptos. Interment will follow the service at Oakwood Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St, Santa Cruz, CA
