Jeanne Shrader, 1922-2009

Jeanne Louise Henry Shrader, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 19, 2009.

She lived a wonderfully full life, capped by 63 years of marriage with her beloved husband, VJ.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she cared deeply about her family and was at her best organizing trips, activities and gatherings.

Born on Dec. 12, 1922, she graduated from Alhambra High School and later Pasadena City College. During World War II, she was a Specialist Recruiter 2nd Class for the U.S. Navy as a WAVE. She received her basic training at Hunter College in New York and was stationed at the Waves Recruiter Office in White Plains, N.Y.

She will always be remembered for her warm smile, concern for others and optimistic outlook.

She is survived by her husband, VJ; three daughters, Randee, Cinda and Dana and their husbands, Paul, Steve and Gary; 8 grandchildren and her two cats, Peaches and Hank.

A private memorial for family is planned. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alzoc.org or 949.955. 9000.)
