Thomas Joseph Higgins II, also known as Tom or Tommy Joe, passed away in the early morning hours of July 10, 2022 from cancer. He was 64.
Tom was born in Louisville, KY on August 9, 1957 to Thomas and Shirley Higgins. He lived in Louisville until age 12 when he moved to Fullerton, CA with his mother, Shirley, step-father John Schwaniger Sr. and younger brother, Bobby.
He graduated from Sunny Hills High School. Tom was skilled at fixing things. He got a certificate in phone repair and worked in that field. He also worked in the family business of commercial window cleaning. Tom moved to Las Vegas, NV where he continued to work in building maintenance. He had his demons, but will always be remembered as a hard worker, family man and nice guy.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Higgins, née Morgan, his son, Thomas "T.J." Joseph Higgins III, his step-son, Vincent "Vinny" Stuart Morgan, his brothers John Schwaniger, Jr. (Donna) of Downey, ID, Donald Schwaniger (Connie Bryan), of Mt. Washington, KY, and Robert Schwaniger (Monica) of Fullerton, CA, as well as several nieces, nephews and loving cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas Joseph Higgins, Sr., his mother, Shirley Marie Schwaniger née Schagene, his step-father, John Schwaniger, Sr., his first wife, Linda Higgins née Sheets, and his step brothers, Ronald Schwaniger and Lonnie Schwaniger.
There is no planned memorial, as he did not wish to have services. The family invites you to have a drink in his honor on his birthday, August 9th...smoke 'em if you got 'em.
Cards of condolence for the family can be sent in care of Bob Schwaniger to 642 W. Roberta Ave. Fullerton, CA 92832.
