From Steve Noonan, January 27, 2015;
'As many of you know - Steven [in photo] has been suffering from multiple re-occurring Cancers for a couple years.
"When I first went to see him a month or so ago, he was quite lucid. We talked and laughed about all our old times - our old school buddies - etc - it was wonderful. He very much wanted you thank all of those who sent money - it was very needed by him at the time - too many of you to mention here - but we will be putting a list together - later - but thank you.
"A couple days ago Steven started getting pains all over his body - and was put on a morphine pump by his doctor - and has begun his gradual transition to the other side.
'Greg Copeland, '64; LIz Maloney and I went to visit him today, January 27 - and met up with some new and old friends there as well.
'Steven was awake for only moments at a time, but recognized us each when he saw us, and said our names, and then dropped back off.
'While it was difficult to see him in this state. It was necessary for us to prepare to really let him go.
'He's had a full, productive life - Painting - Acting (at least two feature films) Partying with the likes of Andy Warhol, Salvadore Dali and many others. 50 our friend Jackson Browne wrote his song "The Painter" about Steven, a song that's on my first LP. That's a hard one to top for a simple artist from Fullerton.
'I will keep you posted, but we are coming to his end -- or beginning, however you wish to see it - and it would be good to send good thoughts to Steven for a quick and painless passing -- and on to his next assignment.
Thanks again for your support . -- Steve Noonan.
