THANK YOU ROD, FOR YOUR INTEREST AND COMMENT. I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT GARY LINES BEING ON THE INSTRUMENTAL SIDE AT SHHS. I FEEL BADLY THAT I FORGOT GARY BUT THANKS TO YOU I NOW REMEMBER HIM AS THE MENTOR THAT I WAS REFERING TO IN THE INTERVIEW. I ALSO AGREE THAT PAUL HAS AN AMAZING MEMORY.

BEST,
B.D.

Loved your interview with Bill Dickinson. Especially your own encyclopedic knowledge of performers, venues and the process of musical creation. Ray Vaughn was the VOCAL Director - Gary Lines would have been the instructor who promoted Bill to first chair. Mr. Lines was the director of the Orchestral and Band programs during our time at Sunny Hills.

Thank you, Bill Dickinson and Paul Saevig for a fascinating interview about Bill's musicianship, career, and life experiences. As one of Bill's classmates, I always regarded him as the quintessence of cool. Now, of course, I know why. He remains an artist, a gentleman, and an inspiration.

Barb, thank you for the information about Debby Ashley! She was a good friend and also a "heartthrob" for quite a while. I will share one incident which has stuck in my memory - her father was in the military and one evening Debby and I were lying on the couch in her den watching a movie when her father got home. He literally picked me up and tossed me out if the house! Never forget that one. Yet, we remained friends for. Several years until I lost touch. Thanks again Barb, appreciate.

Mike: Debby Ashley married Steve Wheeler, the 1966 class president. Debby was also in the class of 66. She and Steve were living in San Juan Capistrano until his passing about 4 years ago.

Paul,
What would we do without you? I have kept up with so many old friends through The "Spoon." You have been a loyal friend to me and all of us old Lancers throughout the years.
Reading through these comments, I am impressed at the number of us who went into education. SHHS must have inspirational!

P.S. Hello to all classmates-Look forward to seeing you at the next re-union. I'll be the one with the pony tail and a bald head.

Paul,
In February Charles Ford passed way. He was a 54 year Fullerton resident and Father of Avril,Leslie,Scott,Ian, and Bonnie Lancers all.
He was a wonderful man and had the finest sense of humor you can imagine.

I am enjoying retirement after 32 years of teaching in college and the schools. My son Kevin is a dermatology resident and my son Finn is graduating from college this May. Leif and I enjoy our cabin on Leech Lake in northern MN. and plan to travel. I still see people from the class of '66 when I visit my Mom in Fullerton. We also enjoy our 2 grand kids. Thanks for the site, Paul.
